Armed Attack on Government Building in Baghdad Injures Iraqi Security Forces
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced an armed assault on a government building in the capital, Baghdad, according to webangah News Agency.
The ministry stated that this morning, one of its agriculture department offices was targeted by an armed group in a serious incident.
Police forces were immediately dispatched to the scene, leading to an armed clash during which several security personnel sustained injuries.
The ministry confirmed that 14 assailants involved in the attack were arrested and that extensive security operations continue in the area.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized it will not tolerate any party attempting to demonstrate power or threaten governmental institutions. It reaffirmed its firm commitment to maintaining security and stability.
Additionally, the ministry declared it will prevent anyone from compromising government institutions or posing a threat to the rule of law.
The statement underlined that state authority and rule of law are red lines that must not be violated.
