Tom Barrack Continues Interference in Lebanon’s Internal Affairs
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency via Al-Nashra,Tom Barrack,the US Special Envoy to Syria,reiterated intrusive comments on Lebanon’s internal matters by claiming that the Lebanese government must promptly disarm hezbollah.
Barrack asserted that both the Lebanese government adn Hezbollah must take prompt action regarding the issue of arms, emphasizing that merely discussing it is insufficient.
He further claimed that the credibility of Lebanon’s government depends on its ability to align principles with actions.As Lebanese officials have repeatedly stated, weapons should be exclusively held by the state.
The US envoy insisted that as long as Hezbollah retains weapons, talk alone will not suffice. Both Lebanon’s government and Hezbollah must fully commit to exclusive state control over arms and act swiftly so that the Lebanese people are no longer trapped in a deadlock without any change.
It is notable that US positions towards Lebanon align with those of the Israeli regime. While Tel Aviv controls parts of southern Lebanon and has violated ceasefires thousands of times,Washington pressures Beirut to disarm Hezbollah.
