Australian Prime Minister Takes Position on Recognizing Palestine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency adn Sputnik,australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that Israel is clearly violating international law by preventing aid from reaching civilians in Gaza. He added that the suffering of the peopel in Gaza is wholly unjustifiable.
Albanese said it is evident that blocking food supplies from entering gaza constitutes a breach of international law. Such laws specify that innocent civilians cannot be held responsible for conflicts.
The prime minister emphasized that warfare has its own rules, including the prohibition against killing innocent people.
While clarifying he is not a lawyer and supports any formal process regarding violations of international law,Albanese stressed that what everyone witnesses amounts to a clear violation of humanity and ethics.
Regarding Australia’s recognition of Palestine, Albanese confirmed that his country has no intention to recognize an independent Palestinian state in the near future.
though, he stated Australia would recognize Palestine if its survival as a state were guaranteed.
He underlined that achieving a two-state solution requires arrangements for rebuilding Gaza and the West Bank,and also resolving issues related to settlement construction.
