Protest Erupts Outside United Nations Headquarters in Beirut
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russian news agency Sputnik, a coalition of Lebanese national parties, forces, and figures joined forces with Palestinian factions and the National Coalition for Change and Salvation to hold a public protest outside the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) headquarters in central Beirut.
The presentation took place at ESCWA Square in the heart of Lebanon’s capital. Participants held placards to denounce what they called a “starvation war” waged by the Israeli military against the people of Gaza.
Protesters also condemned the ongoing “genocidal war” against the Palestinian nation. They demanded urgent international action to halt these crimes and end Gaza’s blockade.
This protest follows a wave of public demonstrations across several countries in the region opposing Israeli regime aggressions.
