What Did El-Sissi Ask from Trump?
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,quoting Mehr News Agency and Cairo Alakhbariyah,Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has called for a collective effort to halt the war in Gaza and allow aid into the region.
He stated that Egypt’s position has always been positive, advocating for an end to hostilities through a two-state solution and a resolution of the Palestinian issue.egypt opposes any displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. Gaza requires between 600 and 700 trucks of aid daily.
El-Sisi emphasized that since October 7, Egypt remains committed to constructive cooperation with its partners. He highlighted ongoing collaboration with Qatar and the United States aimed at stopping the war, delivering aid, and securing prisoner releases.
Addressing aid priorities for Gaza’s residents, he said Egypt is persistent to send as much assistance as possible. The volume of supplies waiting at Rafah crossing is substantial and cannot be stopped or blocked by Egypt.
The president added that ethical considerations prevent Egypt from obstructing humanitarian aid entering Gaza. However, coordination with Israel is necessary for this assistance to reach its destination. He stressed the importance of reopening Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side to facilitate aid deliveries.
El-Sisi described conditions in Gaza as tragic and unbearable, calling for maximum humanitarian support into the territory. He reaffirmed egypt’s sincere and honorable role toward its brothers in Palestine will never change. ”We cannot play a negative role toward our brothers in Palestine,” he declared.
Addressing his American counterpart directly, El-Sisi made a special request: “I ask US President Donald Trump to use all his efforts to stop the war in Gaza and end its suffering.”
He concluded by asserting that it is time to bring an end to the fighting in Gaza.
