The incident occurred in the city of Reno, where authorities have confirmed two fatalities so far.
The Nevada police stated that a gunman opened fire outside a nightclub.
Chris Johnson, spokesperson for the Reno Police department, said the armed suspect was wounded during an exchange of fire with officers and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
