According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al-I’lam al-Harbi, Zionist sources have commented on conditions in northern occupied areas-especially Kiryat Shmona-months after Hezbollah’s missile and drone attacks.
The Israeli outlet Israel Hayom acknowledged in a report from northern occupied territories that even though 60 percent of Kiryat Shmona residents have returned home, life has yet to return to normal.Streets remain largely empty, and commercial centers close early.
The report noted that Kiryat Shmona’s main shopping center is still under reconstruction following Hezbollah’s missile and drone assaults. the city’s primary commercial hub has not yet reopened.
The media further reported that conditions in Upper Galilee resemble those in most towns near the separation barrier. Life remains largely suspended in Eastern Galilee, though most residents in Western galilee have returned home and resumed business activities.
Israel Hayom stated that before the conflict ther were approximately 1,000 small- and medium-sized projects operating in Kiryat Shmona; today only a small number remain partially active. The difference compared to pre-war times is drastic.
The report added that employers face difficulties finding workers because many do not want to return-and some will delay their return until October. Many food establishments close by 4 p.m. due to a lack of customers and quiet streets.
