UK Cabinet Holds Emergency Meeting to Review Gaza Situation
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will hold an emergency cabinet meeting today, Tuesday, claiming it will focus on the situation in Gaza and a proposed peace plan related to it.
Reuters reported that Starmer faces increasing pressure from his party to recognize the State of Palestine.
In a rare move, Starmer has convened his cabinet during the summer recess to discuss ways to provide additional humanitarian aid to Gaza.
During a meeting with US President donald Trump in Scotland on Monday, Starmer discussed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and described the crisis there as a “shameful” humanitarian disaster.
The Prime Minister’s claim of working toward a plan supporting the oppressed peopel of Gaza comes while his country, along with its Western allies led by the United States, continues supplying various weapons to the Israeli regime without pause.
