Trump Responds to London’s Position on Recognizing the State of Palestine
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald trump, whose country is a leading provider of military and financial aid to the Israeli occupation forces, reacted to British Prime Minister’s remarks on the conditional recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
the U.S. president stated, “I have not discussed London’s decision to recognize Palestine (with the British prime minister). The united States is not part of that group. I have never spoken about Britain’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state.”
He added, “The United States opposes it.”
The American leader then adopted a populist tone, claiming: “Children in Gaza are starving. We are supposed to provide them with food! There is nothing but horror when it comes to Gaza. These are children dying from hunger.”
Regarding Moscow, Trump said: “I am giving Russia 10 days to agree on a ceasefire in Ukraine; after that tariffs will be imposed. I have received no response from Putin. This is shameful.”
British Prime minister Keir Starmer recently announced that his country will recognize the State of Palestine in September unless Israeli occupiers take ‘notable steps’ beforehand toward improving conditions in gaza.
Starmer said if Israel does not agree to a ceasefire in Gaza and take measures for long-term peace by september, London will officially recognize Palestine.
