Portugal’s Stance on Day Two of UN Meeting on Palestine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, Portugal’s Foreign Minister stated today, Tuesday, during the Two-State Solution conference in New York: “the war in gaza and the resulting humanitarian disaster must end.”
He added: “There is no justification for starving and killing civilians, including children, in Gaza. We firmly reject the displacement of Palestinians. The violence by settlers in the West Bank must stop.”
The Portuguese minister further affirmed: “We reiterate our commitment to the so-called two-state solution. We also support the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction.”
The international conference titled Two-State Solution on Palestine officially opened yesterday Monday at UN headquarters in New york under joint presidency by France and Saudi Arabia. It will continue over two days.
The conference is held at foreign minister level, with a second round planned at heads-of-state level either during the UN General Assembly sessions in New York or in Paris during the last week of September.
This conference was originally scheduled from June 17 to 20 but was postponed due to Israeli aggression against Iran.
