France: Settler Violence Constitutes a Terrorist Act
According to the English section of webangah news agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the French Ministry of foreign Affairs issued a statement on Tuesday declaring that Paris considers the violence by settlers in the occupied West Bank as terrorist acts.
The ministry’s statement added that Israeli authorities must hold those responsible accountable.
Earlier reports indicated that during an assault by Israeli settlers on the village of Kafr Malek east of Ramallah, three Palestinian civilians were killed.
Eyewitnesses said more than 150 armed settlers, supported and accompanied by Israeli soldiers, attacked the village. They set fire to Palestinian homes and vehicles but faced civilian resistance.
The violent raid left three Palestinians dead and seven others seriously wounded.
This attack came just days after provocative actions by settlers who chanted anti-Palestinian slogans against local residents.
Experts and international organizations have warned about the ongoing escalation of settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.
