UK Labour Leader: Time Has Come for Decisive Action Against Israel

The leader of the UK Labor Party calls for decisive global⁢ action against the Israeli ‍regime.

According to‍ the English⁣ section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al ⁣Jazeera, Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the labour Party and current Member of Parliament in the UK House of Commons,⁤ emphasized in an interview⁢ with Al Jazeera that no country ‍should supply weapons to a regime committing genocide.

He criticized ​Israel’s ongoing policies and unilateral actions in gaza, describing them as genocide by this regime on Palestinian soil. Corbyn added that Israel has been granted​ a veto power allowing it to act with impunity.

The opposition leader stressed that now is the time for all countries to take a firm stand against⁣ Israel.

He stated plainly that Britain must explicitly recognize the State​ of Palestine.

In line​ with this, on Tuesday evening Britain’s Minister for Middle East Affairs announced that London⁣ has long been committed to recognizing Palestine as a⁤ state.

The minister affirmed: “We have long been committed to recognizing the State of Palestine.”

The official⁢ added that today they have taken steps within a peace plan ⁢framework aimed at alleviating ⁤suffering and supporting a two-state solution.

Also earlier⁣ today, a spokesperson for⁤ the UK Prime Minister’s‍ Office said Keir Starmer ⁣told Israeli Prime ​Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that conditions in ⁢Gaza are unbearable and delivering humanitarian ​aid ⁤is more critical than ever.

The ​British Prime minister will⁤ hold an emergency cabinet meeting Tuesday amid claims ‌it will focus on Gaza’s situation‍ and discuss ⁤proposed peace initiatives related to it.

Reuters reported increasing pressure from within Starmer’s ‍own party urging formal recognition of Palestine ‍as‍ a state.

In an unusual move during summer⁣ recess,Starmer convened his cabinet to discuss ways to increase humanitarian assistance for Gaza.

On Monday​ during ‌his visit⁤ with US President Donald Trump in Scotland, ⁣Starmer also discussed the urgent need for a ceasefire in ⁤Gaza and described its humanitarian crisis as “shameful.”
