US Conditions for Halting Tel Aviv’s Attacks on Lebanon
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, Israel’s Channel 12 TV reported, based on five informed sources, that the U.S. is exerting intense pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah. This demand serves as a precondition for resuming negotiations aimed at ending Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
The sources added that Washington has declared if the Lebanese government does not make a concrete commitment to dissolve Hezbollah, it will no longer send its envoy Thomas Barrack to Beirut, and talks with Lebanese officials will cease.
This comes despite a previously agreed ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel in recent months that called for an end to Israeli strikes against Lebanon-attacks that have continued unabated since then.
