8.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Russia; China and Peru Issue Tsunami Warnings
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera,following a powerful earthquake in eastern Russia,tsunami warnings were issued not only by the United States,Japan,the Philippines,and Indonesia but also by Peru and China.
Chinese authorities recently warned of a potential tsunami along the country’s eastern coast.
Early today, the research branch of the Russian academy of Sciences reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.5 struck near the Kamchatka Peninsula coast.
The center emphasized that such an earthquake is rare and remarkable.
CNN reported that this quake is the strongest recorded worldwide since 2011.
The network also warned of tsunami risks along the western coasts of Canada and the United States extending down to Mexico following this event.
