Vershinin: Russia and the U.S. Have Not Negotiated Nuclear Disarmament

Russia’s Deputy ‌Foreign Minister announced that⁢ Russia and the United States ‌are not currently negotiating nuclear disarmament.

According to webangah News Agency, ‌citing mehr​ News Agency and RIA Novosti, Sergey Vershinin, Russia’s​ Deputy Foreign Minister,‌ stated today that Russian bases‍ in Syria can serve a humanitarian role. Discussions‌ between Russia and Syria⁣ regarding the presence of Russian bases in the country continue.

He added that talks between the foreign ministers of Russia and Syria cover trade⁢ and economic cooperation issues.

Vershinin ⁣noted that tensions in Russia-US⁣ relations must first be resolved by the American side. The two countries⁢ are negotiating to resume direct ⁤flights, but no⁢ conclusive results ‌have been reached yet. Currently, Russia and the United States ​are not engaged in negotiations over nuclear disarmament.

He​ further said that Russia is open to ⁣considering any proposals related to disarmament talks.​ Moscow remains willing to continue negotiations with Ukraine; however, higher-level ‌meetings require serious planning.
