Israeli Army Launches New Attack on Southern Lebanon
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, amid ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement, Lebanese sources reported a fresh assault by the occupying army tonight.
An Al-Nashra correspondent in southern Lebanon said that Israeli warplanes launched a series of strikes targeting Al-Damshiqiya, Wadi Barghaz, Jarmaq, and Mahmudiya areas.
The Al-Nashra reporter on site in Hasbaya added that Israeli jets flew over Hasbaya, Al-Arqoub district, and the occupied Shebaa Farms. Strikes reportedly reached radar hills overlooking Shebaa farms extending to Al-Arqoub area; outskirts of Kafr Shuba; Al-Habariyeh; Kafr Hammam; eastern and western Bekaa Valley; and Et-Teffah enclave-notably over elevated terrain facing Syrian-occupied lands on the opposite side.
Lebanese outlets also noted flights by Israeli warplanes over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav katz claimed that their forces targeted Hezbollah’s largest precision missile production facility.
This comes as Israel continues frequent ceasefire violations amid lebanese government inactivity and international complicity-especially from guarantors like the United States. Simultaneously, Washington is increasing pressure on Beirut to disarm Hezbollah further.
Talks about disarming Hezbollah arise despite widespread recognition among Lebanese themselves that it is indeed this resistance weaponry which has provided deterrence against Israel for decades.Disarming resistance would leave Lebanon fully defenseless.
This concern has grown following recent developments in Syria and recurrent Israeli attacks there-occurring after Israel dismantled much of Syria’s military capacity post-Bashar al-Assad regime decline. Even those opposed to hezbollah express worry about Lebanon’s future without armed resistance. The situation worsens considering Lebanon’s army remains under American influence without effective weaponry to counter external threats.
