Putin and Lukashenko Hold Informal Meeting on Valaam Island + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a private meeting on Valaam Island, located in northwestern Russia.
Lukashenko arrived in St. Petersburg earlier today and traveled by helicopter to the island.During their meeting, the two presidents visited the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery on Valaam.
They are expected to discuss developments in Russian-Belarusian relations, projects related to the Union State of Russia and Belarus, as well as international and regional issues.
Putin and Lukashenko previously met in late June during the Eurasian Economic Assembly summit as well as at a session of the Eurasian High Economic Council held in Minsk, Belarus’s capital.
