Yemen Issues Death Sentence for Former President’s Son
The Central Military Court of Yemen has sentenced the son of the country’s former president to death on charges of espionage and treason.
The Central Military Court affiliated with the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen issued a death sentence on Thursday against Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh,son of the country’s former president,according to webangah News Agency, citing Russia Today.
The court convicted him of spying for the enemy, treason, and financial corruption. It also ordered the confiscation of his assets.
Additionally, the Yemeni court emphasized that he must return embezzled property.
Previously,Ahmed held command over the Presidential Guard forces before his father’s regime fell amid popular protests in 2011.
