Trump: I Hear India No Longer Plans to Buy Oil from Russia!
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and India Today, US President Donald Trump described reports that india may stop buying Russian oil as a “good step,” expressing cautious optimism.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “I’ve heard that India no longer intends to purchase oil from Russia. That’s what I’ve heard. I don’t know if it’s true or not,but it’s a good step!”
His remarks come amid increased scrutiny in the United States regarding India’s ongoing energy and defense relations with Russia-an issue intensified by the ongoing war in Ukraine and broader US efforts to economically isolate Russia.
Although New delhi has not officially confirmed such a move, Trump’s claim represents the first public US government stance on India’s potential policy shift.
