Trump’s Unending Grudge Against Medvedev: “We Are Fully Prepared for Nuclear War
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, US President Donald Trump invoked the prospect of nuclear war in reaction to recent statements by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council.
Trump justified his decision to deploy two nuclear submarines near Russian waters by asserting that it was essential to safeguard America’s national security.
“we had to do it. We must be cautious. A threat was made and we believe it was wrong. That is why I took this step based on protecting our people,” he said.
The US president added, “The former Russian president issued a threat, and we intend to protect our people. You onyl need to read what he said-he spoke about nuclear war. When that comes up,we have to be prepared-and we are fully prepared.”
Earlier on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that in response to Medvedev’s online remarks he ordered the deployment of two US nuclear submarines in an appropriate location. He condemned the tone used by the senior Russian official as ”stupid and provocative,” warning that “words matter greatly and often can lead to unintended consequences.”
The virtual dispute began after Trump called the former Russian president an “ineffective leader” and warned him “to watch his words.” In a sharp reply, Medvedev cautioned Trump against provoking Moscow too much and referenced the “Dead Hand” system-a Soviet-era automatic nuclear missile launch mechanism designed to retaliate if Russia’s leadership is destroyed-that reportedly remains active today.
Medvedev wrote: “Regarding (Trump’s) comments about dead economies like India’s and Russia’s as well as ‘entering a very risky area,’ let me remind him of his favorite films about walking dead-and also warn him how dangerous the ‘Dead Hand’ legend can be.”
