David Lammy Rejects Iran’s Claim That Enrichment Is for Academic Use

UK Foreign Secretary Rejects⁣ Iran’s Claim ‍That Uranium Enrichment Is‍ for Academic purposes Without Providing Evidence

According to the ‌English section⁢ of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr ‌News Agency, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy told The Guardian that he does not accept Iran’s position that uranium enrichment is intended for‌ academic purposes, without presenting any evidence or documentation.

The British Foreign Secretary ignored Tehran’s openness to dialog regarding its peaceful nuclear program as stipulated by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and asserted: “Iranian officials cannot explain to me-I ⁣have had manny discussions with them-why they need uranium enriched at 60%. Iran says it is for academic use,but I do not accept ⁤this.”

He further dismissed the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities and made no mention of israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal in the region, which has never come under International Atomic Energy Agency oversight. He claimed Tehran’s actions could escalate tensions across⁢ the Middle‌ East.
