Bolton: Trump Has No Understanding of How Nuclear Submarines Operate
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, John Bolton, who served as white House National Security Advisor during Donald Trump’s first term, criticized Russia’s nuclear threat voiced by its president. speaking to CNN, Bolton called the move extremely perilous and said that Trump’s order to reposition ballistic missile-carrying submarines shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how these submarines operate.
The former National Security Advisor added that Dmitry Medvedev, having served previously as both Russian president and prime minister, currently holds little influence. He described Trump’s response to Medvedev as mistaken and said the U.S.president should not engage wiht such a figure.
Bolton explained that Ohio-class nuclear submarines capable of carrying ballistic missiles do not dock near ports. These vessels follow highly classified operational procedures and remain in place because they are on active missions. He stated that Trump’s comments reveal no grasp of naval structure or America’s nuclear program.
Earlier,Donald Trump referred directly to the possibility of nuclear war following recent remarks by Dmitry Medvedev-Deputy Chairman of russia’s Security Council-and his threats.
Trump justified his decision to deploy two nuclear submarines near Russian waters by claiming it was necessary for U.S. national security.
“We had to do it,” he said. ”We must be cautious.A threat was made; we believe it was wrong. That is why I took this action for the security of our people.” He emphasized reading Medvedev’s words carefully: “He talked about [nuclear] war. When that is raised, we must be prepared-and we are fully prepared.”
Dmitry medvedev recently responded to Trump’s ultimatum demanding an immediate ceasefire and peace agreement with Ukraine by warning that Trump is entering a “final game” leading toward war with Russia.
