According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated on saturday that despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is unlikely within the next 12 months.
The British foreign minister, without mentioning Western provocations toward moscow, questioned Russia’s willingness to reach a resolution. he said, “I believe negotiations will continue for another year. the question is how serious Russia is about these talks.”
The Russian military launched its “special military operation” in eastern Ukraine on February 24,2022. Senior Russian officials have said the operation began in response to requests from leaders of Donetsk and Luhansk for protection against Ukrainian forces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the aim of the operation was “to protect people who have faced genocide and persecution by the Kyiv regime for over eight years.”
