UK Foreign Secretary Declares​ Peace Agreement‌ Between Russia and Ukraine Unlikely Within 12 Months

According to ⁤the‍ English section of webangah News Agency,‍ citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen,‌ UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated on saturday ‍that despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is unlikely within ⁣the next 12 months.

The British foreign minister, without mentioning Western provocations toward moscow, questioned Russia’s willingness to reach a resolution. ‌he said, “I ⁢believe negotiations will continue for another⁣ year. the​ question is how serious ⁤Russia is about these‍ talks.”

The⁢ Russian military launched its “special military ⁣operation” in eastern‌ Ukraine on ‌February 24,2022. Senior Russian officials have said the operation began in response to requests ‍from ​leaders of Donetsk and Luhansk for protection against Ukrainian⁤ forces.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the⁢ aim‌ of⁣ the operation was‌ “to protect people who have faced genocide and⁣ persecution by the Kyiv regime for over⁤ eight years.”
