Al Mayadeen: New Framework Being Established for Iran’s Relations with the IAEA
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency, informed sources told Al Mayadeen that an IAEA delegation will travel to Tehran in the coming days. The visit aims to discuss the implementation mechanism of Iran’s parliamentary law concerning the suspension of cooperation with the agency.
The sources added that thes talks will focus on the political aspects of this process, and no IAEA inspectors will be part of the delegation.
They also noted that a new chapter in relations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency will emerge within the framework of Iran’s recently approved legislation.
It is indeed noteworthy that on July 28,an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated: ”Regarding the IAEA,we remain parties to safeguards agreements.A new protocol is planned with the agency considering parliament’s resolution, which legally binds us. We will determine how to continue cooperation accordingly. Within two weeks, an IAEA official is scheduled to visit Iran for technical discussions.”
