Turkey Arrests 26 on Charges of Collaborating with ISIS
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Anadolu Agency via Mehr News Agency, Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated on social media that gendarmerie forces conducted operations against ISIS members in 14 provinces, resulting in the detention of 26 suspects.
The minister added that these operations targeted ISIS cells in provinces including Ankara and Istanbul.
He confirmed that authorities seized a meaningful amount of organizational documents and digital materials during the raids.
Yerlikaya expressed gratitude to those involved in carrying out these operations and emphasized, “Our fight against terrorism is not limited to security forces’ field actions; it relies on a multidimensional government response encompassing security, intelligence, communications, and international cooperation.”
