Australia Pledges $20 Million Aid to Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Al Jazeera, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced that her country has allocated an additional $20 million in aid for Gaza.
She added, “we have always been part of international calls urging Israel to resume humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza.”
The minister emphasized the urgent need to end the suffering and hunger faced by Gaza’s residents. ”We will continue working with the international community to establish a ceasefire in gaza and secure the release of detainees,” she said.
Wong also stated,”We continue to call on Israel to allow immediate and unhindered access for aid into Gaza.”
A few days earlier, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared that in response to growing public outrage over images of starving children, Australia would recognize the State of Palestine.
