Netanyahu Beats the Drum of War
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that despite domestic protests and increasing pressure over famine and hunger in Gaza amid a severe blockade, a security cabinet meeting will be held this week to direct the army toward achieving war objectives.
After 668 days of conflict,Netanyahu once again spoke about fulfilling the war’s goals, claiming that “defeating the enemy, freeing hostages, and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to israel” must be accomplished.
Netanyahu’s insistence on continuing the war comes as senior military commanders-including the Chief of Staff-call for an end to hostilities and favor moving toward a prisoner exchange agreement. They warn that a prolonged war poses serious risks for Israel’s army.
