18 Dead and Wounded as Israeli Forces Open Fire on Hungry Gaza Residents
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Palestine Today, hospital sources in Gaza have reported more casualties among starving residents caused by fire from Israeli soldiers.
These sources stated that three people were killed and 15 others injured after Israeli forces opened fire on individuals seeking food.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the international organization Oxfam issued another warning today, Monday, about the dire situation in Gaza. They described it as catastrophic and said that airlifted aid operations are ineffective and cannot end hunger in Gaza.
The United Nations Children’s fund (UNICEF) also reported that infants lose their lives while trying to access food or medical care alongside their mothers.
Yesterday, UNICEF announced that over 5,000 children suffered from malnutrition during the first half of July in Gaza. The organization stressed the urgent need to ensure full access for various humanitarian aids into the region.
At the same time, Palestinian medical sources confirmed that since early this morning’s attacks by Israeli occupiers across different areas of Gaza, a total of 56 Palestinians have been killed. Among them, 27 were shot while receiving humanitarian assistance.
