Malaysia Secures Over $24 Billion Investment from BRICS Members

Malaysia’s ‌Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry announced that BRICS member countries have invested approximately $24.59 billion in⁤ the country.

According to the‍ English⁢ section of webangah⁤ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, ⁤BRICS TV reported referencing Malaysia’s Bernama news agency that the trade volume between Malaysia and BRICS countries reached 818 billion ringgit (around $193.47‍ billion) in 2024. This accounts for 35.2% of Malaysia’s total foreign⁤ trade turnover.

Malaysia’s Ministry of ‍Investment, Trade and Industry also stated ⁤that during this period, investments from BRICS nations in Malaysia totaled 104.9 billion ringgit (approximately $24.59 billion).

The ministry emphasized that malaysia’s⁣ position as a partner to BRICS countries offers opportunities ⁣to access large international markets and attract greater foreign investment.

Malaysian prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim remarked, “Although Malaysia is not yet a⁢ full ‌member of BRICS,‌ it has benefited from economic relations with thes countries since most are trading partners and stable sources of foreign investment.”

Earlier,‍ the ⁤Malaysian premier reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the values underpinning BRICS at the group’s seventeenth summit held on July 6-7, 2025,⁤ in Rio ‍de Janeiro.
