Brazilian President: I Will Not Contact Trump
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, reporting from Mehr News Agency via Russia Today, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the president of brazil, emphasized that he will not call his American counterpart Donald Trump to discuss economic disputes and tariffs because trump is not interested in dialogue.
Though,he did not rule out contacting Trump to invite him to attend a climate change summit in Brazil.
The Brazilian president recently accused the United states of attempting a ”coup” against his contry and condemned Washington’s efforts to use political pressure to impose tariffs on Brazil.
Dasilva warned that Brazil will not accept unequal treatment and is prepared to defend its interests on the global stage.
Referring to recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump about imposing a 50 percent tariff on Brazilian exports, he said using political tools for economic sanctions against Brazil is unacceptable.
The Brazilian leader also highlighted that his country no longer depends economically on the United States and reaffirmed his position on replacing the U.S. dollar in international trade.
