Yedioth Ahronoth: Hamas Has 10,000 Armed Fighters in Northern Gaza Strip
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency via Al Manar, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth ahronoth reported that the Israeli military estimates Hamas possesses at least 10,000 armed militants in northern Gaza.
The newspaper further stated that based on testimonies from returned captives, hamas has reconstructed many tunnels within Gaza City.
Yedioth Ahronoth’s report added: Gaza City is just one of three major areas where the Israeli army must defeat hamas in a complete operation that will be discussed by the cabinet. simultaneously occurring, two relatively strong Hamas brigades remain active in central Gaza cities-especially Deir al-Balah and al-Nuseirat-as the Israeli army has refrained from advancing toward them due to concerns over harming hostages.
The newspaper also noted recent political discourse within Israel describing a new maneuver requiring only four to six more months of war. However, experience with this protracted conflict suggests such forecasts are bound to change. What was initially expected as “three weeks” of occupying a single neighborhood in gaza City has already extended to “three months.”
Yedioth Ahronoth concluded its report by highlighting recent developments: failed negotiations, resumed aerial aid deliveries, and horrifying videos emerging from Israeli hostages in Gaza. Today, cabinet ministers will hold their frist political-security meeting in three weeks with a crucial agenda item: Where is the war in Gaza heading?
