France Welcomes Lebanese Government’s Decision Against Resistance Weapons
According to the English section of webangah news agency, citing Al-Mayadeen via Mehr News Agency, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said Paris welcomes Lebanon’s historic and heroic decision to move toward full sovereignty.
He claimed, “We congratulate Lebanon for taking this historic, bold, and correct step to begin fully implementing the agreement to halt hostile actions.”
the Lebanese cabinet recently approved demands presented by the US envoy.
Lebanese Data Minister Paul Massaad announced that cabinet members did not delve into details or timelines during thier meeting. Massaad added that ministers from the Amal Movement and Hezbollah remain committed to the government statement emphasizing exclusive state control over weapons.
he explained that Beirut agreed on retaining arms solely under state authority and deploying army forces in southern lebanon. Massaad also asserted that the meeting underscored the importance of Israeli withdrawal from five points in southern Lebanon.
Additionally, cabinet members consented to ending armed activities throughout Lebanon, including those by Hezbollah.
This comes just hours before Amal and Hezbollah ministers Tamara al-Zain, Rakan Nassereddine, Muhammad Haidar, and Wafadi Maki left the cabinet session.
