Iraqi Parliament Backs Popular Mobilization Forces Against U.S
The head of Iraq’s Parliament Security and Defense Committee announced the upcoming approval of a law concerning the Popular Mobilization Forces.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Maloma, Karim Al-Mohammadi, chairman of Iraq’s Parliament Security and Defense Committee, emphasized that the law regulating the Popular Mobilization Forces is ready for approval and will be discussed in upcoming parliamentary sessions.
He added that this measure will be implemented despite external and American pressures.
Al-Mohammadi also stated that the legislation fully complies with Iraq’s constitution.
It is worth noting that the United States, through its embassy in Baghdad, is exerting strong efforts to dissolve the Popular Mobilization Forces, which have played a meaningful role in combating ISIS and terrorist groups in Iraq.
