Al-Hannawi: We Are Trapped by a Treaty-Breaking Regime That Has Sold Out the Country

A prominent religious leader of the Druze​ community in Sweida,Syria,has sharply criticized the Jolani regime‌ and called ⁢on countries ⁢and humanitarian organizations to intervene to end the siege of the Druze-majority province of Sweida.

According⁢ to the English section of webangah News⁢ Agency, citing Mehr ‌News‌ Agency and Russia Today, Hamoud Al-Hanawi, a leading ‍religious figure of the Druze community in Sweida, condemned ​the Jolani⁢ regime and‍ urged international actors and humanitarian bodies⁢ to take‍ action against the‌ siege imposed on SweidaS Druze province.

in​ a video message, Al-Hanawi stated that countries and organizations must fulfill​ their responsibilities by pressuring for an end to this cruel blockade.He emphasized ‌holding accountable those involved in brutal crimes against members⁤ of​ the Druze tribe.

The Syrian Druze leader described ‍Damascus rulers as oath-breakers who have treated Syria ⁢as a bargaining chip.

Al-Hanawi said: ⁢”We have fallen under a regime that does not honor its‌ promises. It has‌ sold our contry on negotiation tables and stabbed its own people.”

He added: ⁢”The current government is treacherous; it violates agreements, disregards values, and has become like⁣ a sword held over innocent throats.”

Al-Hanawi also called ⁢on residents of Sweida to unite and⁣ support one‍ another. He affirmed that despite this harsh ⁣siege, the province will continue its resistance.

The ‍Druze leader further‍ criticized Arab countries​ for their silence and media blackouts surrounding events in Sweida ​that fail to reflect reality.
