Macron Reacts to Putin and Trump Meeting in Alaska
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, French President Emmanuel Macron said Saturday that Ukraine’s future cannot be decided without Ukrainians.
Macron added that Europeans will inevitably play a role in resolving the conflict because Ukraine’s issue affects their security.
In this context, Al Jazeera reported that Macron emphasized in phone calls with the Ukrainian president, German chancellor, and British prime minister the necessity of European involvement in settling conflicts in Ukraine.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov previously confirmed that vladimir Putin and Donald Trump would meet on August 15 in Alaska.
Earlier,Trump expressed hope to meet his Russian counterpart on August 15 in Alaska.
The U.S.president had announced this news on his social media platform “Truth Social.”
This meeting would mark Trump and Putin’s first face-to-face encounter since Trump returned to the White House in january 2025.
