Israeli Fear Grows Over Hamas’s Rapid Revival
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al jazeera Qatar, Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance Minister and a hardliner in the cabinet, stated that granting Hamas a temporary ceasefire would enable them to regroup and rebuild.
He stressed that the war must continue, irrespective of its heavy costs. The government must decide to bring it to an end decisively.
Addressing Israel’s Prime Minister, Smotrich called on Netanyahu to convene a new security cabinet meeting and ensure military operations in Gaza continue until achieving a clear and unconditional victory without partial agreements.
Criticizing the current cabinet approach, he said Netanyahu and the security ministers have surrendered to weakness and emotion rather of relying on logic. They approved military action only aimed at pressuring Hamas into accepting a limited deal.
Smotrich also made sweeping claims: “We must move toward final resolution by freeing all prisoners at once, defeating and destroying Hamas, seizing large parts of Gaza, and opening pathways for voluntary migration.”
He concluded with words reflecting his militant stance: “A war aimed at decisive victory must be launched. My conscience dose not allow me to initiate military operations whose sole goal is pushing Hamas toward an agreement.”
