Saudi Arms Ship Bound for Tel Aviv Blocked in Italy
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Masirah, workers at the port of Genoa in Italy prevented the passage of the Saudi ship Yanbu, which was transporting military equipment destined for the Zionist regime.
The report states that this Saudi vessel was en route from the United States to the region with military supplies when Genoa port workers discovered that the cargo was intended for israel.
Following this,approximately 40 dockworkers boarded and blockaded the deck of the Saudi ship Yanbu.
Port officials pledged to establish permanent oversight mechanisms to monitor arms trafficking after this incident.
The dockworkers emphasized their refusal to work on shipments connected to war. They recalled taking similar action in 2019 against another Saudi arms shipment. The head of Italy’s Self-reliant Port Workers Union stated that collaborating with such vessels implicates workers in war crimes and genocide in Gaza.
