Financial Times: Rift Emerges Between Israel’s Military and Political Leaders
the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al Mayadeen, reported that the Financial Times revealed a growing rift between Israel’s cabinet and military over plans for a full occupation of Gaza. This division emerged after a week of verbal clashes and accusations between Prime minister benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.
The report highlighted that these verbal confrontations reflect the extent of disagreements between Tel Aviv’s political leaders and military officials.
In recent days, while Zamir has opposed the full occupation plan due to troop shortages and concerns about weakening israeli soldiers’ morale, Netanyahu’s cabinet members, along with Netanyahu himself, have pushed for Zamir to submit to this strategy.
The Financial Times noted this is not the first time Israeli political and military officials have publicly clashed.
