217 Dead in Gaza from Starvation, Including 100 Children

The​ Gaza⁤ Ministry of Health announced that hunger-related fatalities have increased to 217, including 100 children. The declaration came⁤ amid‍ a near-total collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system and severe shortages of food and medicine, raising alarms about worsening famine and disease in the region,⁢ according to webangah News Agency.

In the ⁣past 24 ⁤hours, hospitals ⁣across​ the Gaza Strip recorded five new starvation⁤ deaths, including two children.

Munir al-Barsh, ⁣Director General of Gaza’s Ministry of ‌Health, stated that the ​occupiers have resorted to engineered⁣ starvation⁤ as⁢ a form of siege⁢ against Gaza.​ He added that recent aid deliveries have met less than 5 percent of the territory’s needs.

Yasser Shaaban,Medical Director at⁤ Al-awda Hospital in Nuseirat Camp,said about 80 percent of‌ hospitalized children suffer from severe⁢ hunger and ​malnutrition. he emphasized that shortages in medicines and medical supplies⁤ pose a serious⁢ threat to health services.

Mohammed Abu-Salmiya, director of Shifa Medical Complex, reported that all neonatal ​incubators in Gaza have been ​destroyed by ‌occupiers-endangering newborn lives.‌ He stressed​ that hospitals‍ are no longer able to provide adequate‍ healthcare ⁤for patients ⁢and injured individuals.

Abu-Salmiya also ⁤highlighted that due to high numbers of casualties and near-collapse conditions within ⁣healthcare infrastructure,‌ Gaza has entered its worst health crisis​ stage.

He⁢ warned about widespread disease outbreaks driven⁣ by⁢ accumulating waste, lack of clean⁤ water access, and shortages ‍in essential ⁢food supplies. Many dialysis patients die daily because malnutrition ‍combined with deficits ‍in necessary‌ medication‍ and equipment prevents them from continuing treatment.
