Pakistan: Israel’s Plan to Occupy Gaza Is Ethnic Cleansing
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Pakistan’s representative at the United Nations condemned Israel’s decision to seize Gaza during Sunday’s Security Council session addressing continued crimes against Gaza’s oppressed population. He said,”The council has failed to take necessary measures to stop Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. We condemn Israel’s decision to occupy Gaza and view it as a serious escalation of tensions.”
Islamabad added that Israel’s plan for occupying gaza constitutes an ethnic cleansing campaign aimed at erasing Palestinians from existence. This plan threatens mass displacement of over one million Palestinians and violates the Geneva Conventions.
The Pakistani envoy emphasized that Gaza is facing a dire humanitarian catastrophe due to indiscriminate bombings and purposeful starvation. He urged the Security Council under Chapter VII of its Charter to demand that Israel halt its occupation plans for Gaza City.
