Russia: Israel’s Starvation of Gaza Civilians Constitutes a War Crime
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, russia’s representative to the United Nations condemned Israeli actions in Gaza during Sunday’s Security Council session, stating, “We condemn Netanyahu’s intent to control Gaza.”
The Moscow official continued: “Israel’s attempts to occupy Gaza constitute a clear violation of international law. The escalation by Israel risks endangering the security and lives of captives held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Foreign Minister has manipulated the Security Council to advance his own objectives.”
The Russian envoy added: “Israel’s decision to occupy Gaza will worsen the humanitarian situation there and increase civilian suffering. Plans aimed at forcing civilians to flee Gaza and using starvation as a weapon amount to war crimes.”
He concluded: “We call for a diplomatic solution to the Palestinian issue based on a two-state framework.”
