Tehran Sets Conditions for Washington in Exclusive Talk with Takht-Ravanchi to Kyodo
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign minister, stated that Tehran would agree to limit its nuclear program if Washington lifts its unilateral sanctions.
takht-Ravanchi added that such limitations would be set for a specific period. He also expressed willingness to reduce uranium enrichment levels.
Indirect negotiations between Iran adn the United States over Tehran’s nuclear program have stalled, primarily due to Washington demanding the dismantling of uranium enrichment activities-a move rejected by the Islamic republic. In addition, just before the sixth round of indirect talks mediated by Oman between Iran and the U.S., israel launched aggressive attacks against Iran, which were subsequently supported by Washington through coordinated strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities alongside Tel Aviv.
In this interview, Takht-ravanchi did not specify how much uranium enrichment would be reduced but emphasized that “stopping enrichment is unfeasible.”
Accusing America of “deception and pretending to negotiate,” he stressed: “We are ready to engage in talks.” The senior diplomat also demanded accountability from the U.S., calling for explanations regarding its attacks on Iranian territory as part of fostering “honest dialog” and highlighted that compensation claims against America will be addressed during negotiations.
Takht-Ravanchi further noted ongoing contact with the U.S. through a third-party mediator but refrained from speculating on when formal talks might resume.
