What Did the UAE President’s Adviser Say About the Sudan Clashes?
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, stated that a ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the formation of a civilian government are essential to the UAE’s stance on Sudan.
Gargash wrote on X: “What is wrong with an approach that calls for an immediate ceasefire in a war causing civilian suffering and tearing Sudan apart?”
He added: ”The position of the UAE and most countries worldwide is to establish a ceasefire, prioritize humanitarian aid, and follow a path leading to an independent civilian government. Both sides in this civil conflict-the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces-should be asked what objection they have to such an approach.”
Earlier, the UAE ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an end to conflicts in Sudan and accused the sudanese government of spreading misleading and false information.
While some foreign parties face accusations of intervening in Sudan’s internal conflict-especially allegations against the UAE supporting Rapid Support forces-Sudan has also accused the UAE of recruiting Colombian mercenaries to fight alongside these forces with financial backing.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry issued a statement last Monday declaring it possesses all documents proving that mercenaries from Colombia and certain neighboring countries are intervening with Emirati financial support in this war.
