Spain Calls on European Union to Recognize the State of Palestine
Spain’s Foreign Minister urged the European Union to recognize an autonomous Palestinian state, emphasizing that silence is unacceptable in response to Israel’s escalating military occupation and the famine in Gaza.
According to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Spain’s Foreign Minister called on the European union to take immediate action to halt the latest wave of Israeli violence in Gaza.
José Manuel Albares stated, “We cannot stand by silently while israeli military occupation intensifies and famine worsens.”
The Spanish foreign minister stressed that it is time for the European Union to follow Spain’s lead and formally recognize Palestine as a sovereign state.
