Iraqi Representatives Demand Baghdad Act Against Brazen British Ambassador
According to webangah news Agency citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Maloomah, Iraqi parliament member Alaa al-Haidari stressed: “Who gave the British ambassador permission to act as Iraq’s guardian? His audacity against the Popular mobilization Forces reflects his country’s colonial mindset.”
He added, “The ministry of Foreign Affairs must stop this insolent individual; otherwise, we will take action in parliament.”
Another Iraqi MP, Yasser al-Husseini, also emphasized: “The British ambassador is openly interfering in Iraq’s internal affairs-just like the US embassy. The Popular Mobilization Forces are a national institution established by a religious authority’s fatwa and governed by law.”
He described the British ambassador as an unwelcome figure in Iraq.
Mokhtar al-Mousawi from the coordination Framework coalition asserted that their government should disregard foreign pressures-especially from the United States-against the Popular Mobilization forces.
the British ambassador had claimed that there was no longer a need for thes forces in Iraq.
