Washington: Trump-Putin Meeting Is Not for Quid Pro Quo
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken by phone three or four times.However,these calls produced no results,and Washington has not achieved what it sought.
He added that the meeting between Trump and Putin is not about granting concessions but rather aims to clarify issues and make decisions.
White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt announced on Tuesday that the meeting between presidents Putin and Trump will take place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska.
The White House spokesperson continued that Trump hopes to hold a trilateral meeting with Ukraine and Russia to end the war. President Trump remains committed to ending the conflict between Russia and ukraine, while maintaining communication with President Zelenskyy and European partners.
Caroline Leavitt also mentioned that Trump may travel to Russia in the future.
