Washington: Trump-Putin Meeting Is Not for Quid Pro Quo

US Secretary of State⁣ says the meeting between the ⁢US President and his Russian counterpart is not ‌about making concessions.

According to the English section‍ of webangah News Agency, ⁣citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US Secretary ⁢of‌ State Marco Rubio stated that President‌ Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken by phone three or ‌four⁢ times.However,these calls ​produced no results,and Washington ‍has not achieved what it sought.

He added ⁢that the⁢ meeting between Trump ⁤and Putin is not about granting concessions but rather aims to clarify‍ issues and⁣ make decisions.

White ‌House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt announced ⁣on ​Tuesday that the ‌meeting between presidents Putin and⁢ Trump will take place on ‍August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska.

The White House spokesperson continued that Trump hopes‌ to hold a trilateral ⁣meeting with Ukraine⁢ and Russia to end the war. President Trump remains⁢ committed‌ to ending the conflict between Russia and ukraine, while maintaining communication with ⁤President ⁤Zelenskyy and European partners.

Caroline Leavitt also ⁣mentioned that Trump may travel to Russia in the future.
