Clash and Shooting Erupt at Sydney Airport, Australia
A clash at the domestic terminal of Sydney Airport, Australia, lead to police opening fire.
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Guardian, a confrontation at Sydney airport’s domestic terminal forced police to fire shots, resulting in one person being detained.
The australian Federal Police confirmed that the individual is currently in custody and an examination into the incident has begun.
Police stated that no injuries or casualties occurred and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
A spokesperson for Sydney Airport earlier confirmed that a disturbance broke out at the Mascot suburb airport terminal near Sydney.
The incident led to part of Terminal 2 being placed under lockdown and shortly after caused cancellations of some flights.
