Fidan Travels to Qatar for Talks on Syria and Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to embark on a two-day trip to Qatar.
The minister will be in Doha on August 13 and 14 (today and tomorrow), the report states.
Sources familiar with the matter say Fidan’s meetings in Qatar are expected to focus on the growing strategic partnership between Ankara and Doha across all sectors. They will explore new avenues for cooperation moving forward.
The discussions are also anticipated to lay the groundwork for the eleventh session of the Supreme Strategic Committee between the two countries, which is planned later this year under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha.
Anadolu reports that during these talks, consultations will take place on regional issues, especially concerning Gaza and Syria.
