Macron: New Sanctions Package Against Russia Under Review
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Al jazeera, French President Emmanuel Macron held a virtual consultation with U.S. President Donald Trump today, Wednesday. During the discussion on territorial exchanges as a means to resolve conflicts in Ukraine, Trump emphasized that any territorial negotiations must go through the Ukrainian president.
Macron added that Trump assured them that all discussions about Ukraine would take place only with Kyiv’s involvement. Without security guarantees, peace is unattainable. There is no solution to the Ukrainian crisis without the participation of its president.Trump also expressed his intention to achieve a ceasefire during his talks with Putin in Alaska.
Emmanuel Macron further stated: “We are reviewing the implementation of a new sanctions package against Russia and hope to reach a peace agreement that would render these sanctions unnecessary.”
