Planning for the “Zangazur Corridor” Project Completed in Turkey and UAE
Dariush Safarnezhad, a senior Caucasus expert, says the planning of the “Zangezur Corridor” project was conducted in Turkey and the UAE without RussiaS involvement.
Mehr News Agency, International Desk: Dariush Safarnezhad, senior Caucasus analyst, stated at the international conference titled “Zangezur Corridor: Geopolitical Threats to Iran and Perspectives of Various Actors” hosted by Mehr News Agency that the initial meeting took place in Turkey and the second in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2020-both without Russia’s participation as mediator of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. He added that agreements reached during these sessions include an 8 to 9-month timeline. It was decided to form a consortium comprising American, european, Israeli, Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Armenian companies.
